Urgent Care / ED Registrar

Inspire Medical is recruiting Registrars in Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care for locum and fixed term positions at various locations across the country. Posts are in HSE emergency departments and in private urgent care centres, and cover the full adult and paediatric case mix at middle-grade level.

Locum cover runs from single shifts to rolling blocks; fixed term contracts run from three months to a full six-month rotation. Salary and rates vary depending on whether the post is private or HSE — HSE posts pay on the HSE NCHD scale, private posts at the centre’s own rate. General Registration with the Irish Medical Council is mandatory.

Consultant in Emergency Medicine

• Assess, investigate and manage undifferentiated adult and paediatric presentations across all triage categories.
• Lead resuscitation of the critically ill or injured patient until consultant arrival.
• Perform emergency procedures including airway support, fracture reduction, wound closure and procedural sedation as competent.
• Supervise SHOs and support the nursing team in patient flow and escalation decisions.
• Refer appropriately to inpatient specialties and complete safe, documented handovers.

• IMC General Registration is mandatory — applications without it cannot be progressed.
• At least three years’ post-graduate experience, two of them in emergency medicine, acute medicine or urgent care.
• Current ACLS and ATLS; APLS or EPALS strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working autonomously with consultant support by phone, including nights and weekends.
• Garda vetting, occupational health clearance and two clinical references.
