CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist

Inspire Medical is recruiting Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists for locum and permanent positions with HSE Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) at various locations across the country. Posts lead community CAMHS teams, with some covering inpatient units, liaison and specialist services for young people up to 18.

Locum cover runs from single weeks to rolling blocks at HSE locum rates: €133 per hour on site and €33 per hour off site. Permanent posts are on the HSE consultant contract. Registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council register is mandatory for every post.

Executive Clinical Director, Mental Health Services

• Provide consultant-level assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents referred to the service, working closely with families and carers.
• Lead the CAMHS multidisciplinary team and hold overall clinical responsibility for young people under your care, in line with the CAMHS Operational Guideline.
• Liaise with GPs, primary care, paediatrics, schools, Tusla and disability services to coordinate care.
• Supervise NCHDs and contribute to their training, appraisal and clinical governance.
• Take part in the consultant on-call rota for the service as agreed at booking.

• IMC Specialist Registration in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is mandatory — applications without it cannot be progressed.
• Recent consultant or senior specialist experience in an Irish, UK or comparable child and adolescent mental health service.
• Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2001, the Children First Act 2015 and the CAMHS Operational Guideline.
• Current medical indemnity and evidence of participation in a professional competence scheme.
• Garda vetting, occupational health clearance and two consultant-level references.
