General Practitioner

Inspire Medical is recruiting General Practitioners for locum and fixed term vacancies in practices at various locations across the country, with competitive rates on offer. We cover annual leave, study leave, maternity leave and periods of high demand in single-handed and group practices, primary care centres and out-of-hours co-operatives.

Locum sessions are booked by the day or half-day and confirmed in advance; fixed term contracts run from three months upward. Tell us where you want to work and how many sessions you want and we will build a diary around it.

Practice Principal

• Run booked and urgent surgeries for GMS and private patients across the full primary care case mix.
• Review results, correspondence and repeat prescription requests generated during your sessions.
• Refer to secondary care and community services with clear, complete referral letters.
• Manage chronic disease reviews and preventive care where these fall within the booked session.
• Record consultations accurately in the practice management system and hand over safely at the end of each session.

• Registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council register in General Practice.
• Current medical indemnity and evidence of participation in a professional competence scheme.
• Experience of Irish general practice, including the GMS scheme, is an advantage.
• Confident working independently with practice nurse and administrative support.
• Garda vetting and two professional references.
